After the constant noise of the bar, silence is unsettling. We walk slowly and steadily home. The streets are empty, dark, and so, so silent. For the first time tonight, we are alone. As our feet crunch over the snow, our mind buzzes with the warm memory of companionship. But, in the absence of actual company, it is not enough to keep the night chill from getting to us. We look ahead and see the first light of dawn breaking in the sky ahead.
